, but we should not deny that it can provide us with a decent idea of the way players are perceived ahead of the start of a new year. Think of it like a gigantic power ranking for nearly everyone in the league. One that actually lends the Bulls' roster some respect this time around.
NBA 2K23 announced today that DeMar's DeRozan has checked in at 89 overall while Zach LaVine will enter the season set at 88. This is a significant increase for DeRozan, who coming into last year ranked just 85. As for LaVine the player gets one slot more to NBA 2K22's 87. While I believe they both deserve to reach the 90s' threshold, an 88 and 89 puts the players in fairly good company.
For instance, DeRozan is placed ahead of Rudy Gobert and just two spots ahead of Devin Booker. LaVine is ranked higher than players like Zion Williamson and Jaylen Brown. One thing that LaVine also has at his disposal is a top position on the dunking charts. LaVine's score of 95 puts him ahead of only Ja Morant as well as Zion Williamson as one of the league's premier slammers.
The remainder of the Bulls roster is yet to be confirmed but 2KRatings does have an unofficial list worth looking at. Behind DeRozan and LaVine which is not a surprise there's an 83-overall Nikola Vucevic, followed by Lonzo Ball, who scored 82 , and Andre Drummond with a somewhat unexpected 81.
The most shocking ranking is due to the player with most likely the highest expectations. So far, Patrick Williams is only recorded at a 74 which places him alongside Goran Dragic, and Derrick Jones Jr. yet places him in the shadow of. . . TONY BRADLEY! ?
